Třístoličník (Three Stools Mount)
Třístoličník (Three Stools Mount)
Třístoličník (Three Stool Mount) is a Czech boundary mountain with the peek at the altitude of 1311 metres above sea level. The name of the mountain (Dreisesselberg in German) is derived from three granite rock "turrets" on the mountain top at the German side of the border incurred by mechanical weathering. These rock formations offer nice panoramic views of Bavaria and - at good visibility conditions - even of the Alps. Close to the mountain peak there is a mountain cottage with a restaurant. On the northern slope of the mountain there is a beginning of the Schwarzenberg Floating Canal. A distinctive ridge extends from the top of Třístoličník in the south-east direction, featuring besides others Trojmezná mountain (1361 m) and the highest mountain of the Czech part of the Šumava/Bavarian Forest - Plechý (1378).
