Šumava Museum

The museum displays the expositions called "Life in the Ancient Šumava", "Natural Science Exposition" and recently extended "Glass Industry in the Šumava" exposition. The visitors may admire exhibits relating to gold mining and to the live of inhabitants of the ancient Šumava. The most precious exhibits include a collection of Late Gothic sculptures from the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries and a collection of local glassware.
A significant event at the Šumava Museum consists in the exposition of a part of the coined treasure disclosed during reconstruction of the Kašperské Hory square in 2009. This discovery representing the second largest coined finding in western Bohemia since 1771 is thus accessible to all visitors.
