Town Hall
Town Hall
The widow after George of Lokšany sold the building in 1551 to the burghers who adapted it into the town hall before 1597 already. The front was connected with three Baroque gables and the clock turret was set in. The ultimate major reconstruction took place in 1770's and included application of dome vaults and the front was decorated with stucco façade, the most probably designed by the architect Philip Heger (around 1734-1804).
Besides the municipal authority the town hall also hosted the District Court until 1938. One of its judges was the writer and satirist Václav Lacina. Local magistrate's jails have also been preserved in the building.
