St. Nicholas Church is the oldest preserved building in Kašperské Hory and, at the same time, belongs amongst the most significant historical monuments of early Middle Ages in South-West Bohemia. Founding of this impressive building dates back to the period after 1300.
The church is situated together with St. Ann Chapel in the historical part of the cemetery grounds of Kašperské Hory, amidst picturesque landscape about 1 km to the west of the town centre.
The St. Nicholas Church is a three-aisled basilica with preserved Gothic arcades and unique colour fresco paintings from the beginning of the 14th century. The splendid wooden and decorated ceiling with the town's coat of arms is a work of the town burgomaster and painter Viktorin Antonín Groff from 1700.

Since 2010 the tourists have had the opportunity to visit the church and the chapel within the scope of the commented guided tours focused on the history of St. Nicholas Church and the origins of settlement in Kašperské Hory. The tour leads through the interior of the church, the attached St. Ann Chapel and the historical part of the cemetery.
