Late Gothic style water castle among the meadows surrounding the Úhlava river north of Klatovy was founded in 1480 by Půta Švihovský, then a rich and influential Czech nobleman. First part of the castle was finished in
1489, the rest in 1510. In the 18th century the whole was rebuilt into a granary, in the middle of 20th century the castle was re-opened to public.

Unique features: The castle with its water ditch fortification was one of the best fortresses of its period.
