These houses in seclusion have always belonged to Horská Kvilda. Today, we can find here one of the best preserved samples of the ancient Šumava architecture (U Štěrbů house), serving as a recreational cottage, whose owners nevertheless maintain the original style of the building. The meadows in the surroundings of Horní Antýgl are in part poor and stony, in part waterlogged and transformed into peat-bogs, with incidence of a wide range of protected vegetation species.
