The Šumava peat-bogs
The peat-bogs are one of the symbols of the Šumava nature, with only three of them being accessible to visitors. The Three Lake Fan (Tříjezerní slať) is a small slope raised bog extended below the south-east slope of Oblík mountain. The instructive path from 1978 enables comfortable tour about the peat-bog with three lakes. The Lake Fan (Jezerní slať), which is a typical divide mountainous raised peat-bog, is located in between the villages of Kvilda and Horská Kvilda. Since 1933 it has been a protected natural reserve of the area of 103 hectares. At the edge of the peat-bog there is an outlook tower and a wooden footpath.
The Chalupská Fan (Chalupská slať) is situated between the villages of Borová Lada and Nové Hutě. The largest moor-lake in Bohemia of the area of 1,3 hectares is accessible by a wooden foot-path.
